REGISTER NOWCourse Description: This workshop will provide an overview of the relationship between eating disorders, body image disturbance, and self-harming behaviors. Eating disorders will be conceptualized as self-harming behaviors; additional self-harming behaviors that can accompany eating disorders will also be discussed. The discussion will focus on the impact of the pandemic on body dissatisfaction, eating disorders and other self-harming behaviors.

At the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
Describe each of the eating disorder diagnoses.
Describe body image, body image disturbance, and body image distortion.
Conceptualize eating disorders as self-harming behaviors.
Understand the connection between eating disorders and other self-harming behaviors.
Understand the connection between body image, eating disorders, and self-harm.
Describe the impact that the pandemic has had on the incidence of eating disorders, body image, and self-harming behaviors.
